DESCRIPTION
ITALIAN IMMIGRATION UPDATE – The Italian government has announced the number of work permits available within the quota system for 2018 and it is 30.850 – just like last year. The quota system applies to some categories/citizens. Some positions, especially highly-skilled ones, are not covered by the quota system.
Out of the 30.850, 18.000 work permits are assigned to foreigners seeking seasonal work in Italy; the remaining 12.850 will be issued to foreigners already in possession of a Permit of Stay (Study / Seasonal) and who would like to convert this for full time employment in Italy. A few work permits will also be available for self-employed applicants and special categories of foreigners, such as Latin American citizens with Italian ancestors or workers who have completed a specified training in their country of origin.
The decree will become official in mid-January. Ultimate Italy
