IT Support - Technical Support - Desktop Support (1st and 2nd Line) sought by a household name with offices in Surrey. You will work within an internal IT team and support 4000 users with all 1st and 2nd line issues (Desktop Support).

Role Summary:

Provide a primary interface between the business and the IT department. Takes ownership, logs & coordinates all computer hardware & software-related queries & requests from the company.

You will perform a broad range of technical and professional work activities in logging and resolving technical issues with laptops, PCs, and handheld devices. You will plan and control their own work, selecting and utilizing the appropriate methods, procedures, tools, equipment, and standards to meet the SLA's set.

Duties:

  • Provide 1st and 2nd line support to all users

  • Software and hardware support

  • Assists users in defining their access rights and privileges and operates agreed on logical access controls and security systems. Maintains agreed security records and documentation.

  • Monitors service component capacity and initiates actions to resolve any shortfalls according to agreed procedures. Applies techniques to modify demand for a resource or service.

Skillset:

  • Proven experience in IT Support

  • Has experience using Active Directory and a ticket and phone call management system

  • Basic understanding of ITIL

  • Has good interpersonal skills. Is well organized and practical with a logical, analytical approach to problem-solving. Pays careful, close attention to detail.

The role…

This is a key role in supporting the business's IT systems, ensuring business-critical applications are well maintained, and providing a helpdesk service to IT users throughout our network of branches and head office teams.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responding to help desk tickets in a timely manner within the agreed IT SLAs

  • Setting up new starters and processing leavers

  • Configuring new PC's, phones, mobiles and iPads

  • Providing telephone and remote desktop support for PC's, printers, email, and systems
