Responsibilities
Provide 2nd/3rd line support to business and technology users, creating, updating, and communicating processes along the way.
Implement, configure, and maintain robust systems within a hybrid environment across SaaS, private and public cloud.
Working with the Technology Team to help migrate, implement, and maintain services and systems in AWS.
With direction from the IT Manager, help to ensure that the company’s platform and services are resilient and operate efficiently at all times.
Be the principal lead on all regularly scheduled maintenance, including assisting in patching, penetration testing, and disaster recovery.
Support and administer the company’s internal platforms, network, and IT services.
Support the client-server estate across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments.
Take responsibility for the end-to-end resolution of escalated technical issues. Work with outsourced third parties and service providers through effective resolution of issues and the modification and development of services based on changing business needs.
Ensure the operation continues to meet the ISO 27001 standard. Create, update and communicate procedural documentation in order to adhere to technical controls and security policies.
Work with the wider Technology Team and Management to research, review, and recommend future innovations and solutions.
Your knowledge and experience
Previous experience of working with AWS environments and Cloud-hosted systems.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server environments.
Previous experience in 1st and 2nd (possibly including 3rd) line user and server support roles.
A clear understanding of Information Security principles, controls, and implementation.
A clear understanding of web apps, networking, and security-related principles and protocols; TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SFTP, SSL/TLS, routing, switching, firewalls, load balancers, LAN segmentation, etc.
Microsoft IIS and SQL Server management experience.
Experience communicating procedures and training others in systems and services.
Nice to have
Certified AWS Professional, MCP, MCSA, MCSE, or equivalent experience.
Experience migrating to and/or maintaining systems/services hosted in AWS.
You are familiar with ISO 27001 certified environments and the implementation/maintenance of Information Security Management Systems.
Experience using monitoring tools.
Technology operations experience with a consumer-facing platform. Experience supporting modern web applications built using the .Net framework and/or associated frameworks/systems.
You have experience working in a SCRUM team and in the agile framework.
You have experience with financial services systems and associated regulations.
DevOps experience - understanding of CI/CD, container orchestration, code repositories (Git) Infrastructure as code, web hosting, automation, automated testing, etc.
Knowledge of application lifecycle management and tools – JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket, CodeCommit, TeamCity, Octopus Deploy, AWS services, etc.
