Windows Automation Engineer - London - £65,000k + Excellent benefits + Bonus + Remote working

Overview: An excellent opportunity has arisen with a Tier 1 Investment Bank in the heart of the City for a Windows Automation Engineer to support and develop the High-Performance Grid (HPC) to ensure the Front Office Systems division has a stable and efficient platform. Our client has in excess of 180,000 employees in over 50 countries worldwide.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Ensure the availability, stability, and performance of the High-Performance Computing (HPC) platform is suitable for the business requirements.

• Support the HPC users from the Front Office Systems division.

• Oversee and implement the upgrade from HPC 2012 to HPC 2019.

• Implement automated monitoring and housekeeping of the platform.

• Review and optimize the existing PowerShell scripts as well as extend the automation functionality further.

• Review the existing on-premise and cloud-based platform and make recommendations for cost-savings, and increasing performance.

• Perform daily housekeeping and maintenance checks to ensure the grid is constantly available and performant.

Essential skills & Experience

• Create automation scripts using PowerShell

• Microsoft HPC experience or similar

• Windows administration experience

Desirable:

• Red Hat Linux experience

• Experience with cloud services in Microsoft Azure

Package:

•£55,000-£65,000k basic salary

Top tier global consultancy seeks a Market Data & Analytics Manager to join a collaborative and enthusiastic team that covers a broad range of data capabilities including data visualization, data management, data migration, data architecture, data integration and data modelling. Given the significant demand in the marketplace, there are multiple opportunities for individuals with expertise in at least one of the following areas: Data & Information Management, Information Exploitation or Advanced Analytics.

 

The team provides strategic, organizational and technical advisory work for their clients which allows them to exploit their information and maximise value from data assets.

 

 

The Role:

  • Manage projects and workstreams from strategy to execution within Financial Services focusing on digital transformation with use of the latest data and technology in such

  • Support senior client stakeholders (CFO, CDO, CIO) to cultivate relationships as a trusted partner, through articulating and realizing the value of data and technology

  • Identify, scope, and develop ideation opportunities with clients (PoCs, MVPs), and support the creation of RFP responses

  • Develop client solutions across the creation to consumption of ideation lifecycle (idea generation, problem statement, use cases, technology & data sourcing, management, PoC/MVP build, reporting)

  • Manage and monitor engagement financials, profitability metrics and ensure invoices are billed to the client appropriately

  • Providing data analytics services using software such as SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python, and R to deliver meaningful insights to our clients and help them to understand the risks and key drivers for their business

  • Build data frameworks, accelerators, alliances with big (cloud/data) and small tech (FinTech), and points of view to support sales and solve key client issues

  • Leverage their understanding of key technology vendors and trends in the marketplace to deliver engagements

  • Develop our people through coaching, mentoring, formal performance management, and creating an inclusive working environment

 

Skills and experience required

  • experience of data & analytics or technology experience in Financial Services or Capital Markets with a professional services firm, an internal strategy/analytics group, or a similar environment

  • Data & Analytics or Technology experience supporting or leading solutions in Retail or Corporate Banking, Insurance, Wealth & Asset Management or Capital Markets

  • Demonstrable experience of complex data projects covering the full creation to consumption data lifecycle (data sourcing, management, quality, reporting & analytics)

  • An SME in Information Exploitation or Advanced Analytics ideally on cloud infrastructure

  • Drafting and analysis of RFPs or Business Cases for data, technology, and product offering

  • Masters or bachelor's degree in a technical (STEM) field with working knowledge of topics such as data analytics, data science, information management

  • Functional knowledge and point of view around key tools within the Data Management or Analytics market

  • Developing and/or delivering an Analytics/Data Management Roadmap

  • Designing an appropriate target state for client data functions based on their vision and current state issues

  • Analysis of data, identifying insights, and providing hypotheses

  • Understanding the delivery of data projects through a standard or alternative project lifecycle
